Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The pilgrimage church of St. Blasien, municipality Adlwang, is a gothic hall church. It has a one nave longhouse with 2½ bays, a ribbed vault and a polygonal apse. The windows are with open tracery. The portals in south and west are of neo-gothic origin. The belfry is a wooden flèche. The knights of Rohr let erect this church in 1348. The interior was made around 1700. The remarkable high altar was created in 1715 by the sculptor of the monastery Kremsmünster. The altarpiece shows St. Blaise according to his legend with the wife whose pig he had saved. The paintings of the church were made by a local painter. Remarkable is also the ornamental iron reinforcement of the door from the nave to the sacristy.
