[edit]Grand Jury Hears Four In Land Probe. Four witnesses were scheduled to be heard yesterday in the September term Grand Jury's continuing probe into land and property acquisitions for the New Jersey State Highway Authority. Among the four to testify were Ferdinand Frankel of 70 Christie Avenue, Clifton, a negotiator for the state highway authority; Mrs. Adele Lindauer of 215 Beverly Hill Road, Clifton, former wife of Charles Lindauer, former chief of appraisals for the authority; Gustav Werner, of 41 Wilmore Road, Little Falls, a property owner from whom the authority acquired property and who was represented by state Sen. Frank Shershin, and Walter Goldberg, an attorney of 17 Academy Street, Newark, who served as former chief condemnation counsel. Several witnesses were excused and Deputy Atty. Gen. Julius Feinberg said the Grand Jury will re-convene next Friday. Ten witnesses are scheduled to be heard then.
