Text
[edit]Mrs. Lindauer Backs Grossi. Paterson, New Jersey. Mrs. Adele Lindauer today issued a statement supporting the charge of Anthony J. Grossi, Democrat, in his campaign against Republican State Senator Frank W. Shershin. Grossi has charged that Shershin made an "unconscionable" profit of $50,000 representing clients whose properties were condemned for the Garden State Parkway. He said that Shershin and Charles Lindauer, former parkway land-acquisition agent, met in Lindauer's home to discuss the deals. Mrs. Lindauer, former wife of the parkway official, says Grossi's statements concerning the meetings in the Lindauer home are accurate. "In my presence, and in my home, Senator Shershin and Mr. Lindauer discussed high and low appraisals on property which was being sought by Garden State Parkway Authority, in which Mr. Shershin was the attorney of record for the property owners", she says. "I so testified under oath during the attorney general's investigation. I volunteered this information to Mr. Grossi."
