Description
English: 'The Brocas', built by John Newman in 1840, is one of the best grand country residences of Adelaide, and is listed by the National Trust. This view shows a meet of the Adelaide Hunt Club on August 15th, 1870, soon after the completion of extensive renovations to the house. From left to right are: J. Newman [standing, holding his top hat], G. Dormer [the only lady riding, in a side-saddle], S. Ferry, A.J. Baker, H.E. Downer [the Master], F. Bonnin, F. Drew, R.F. Moore, C. Colley, P. Auld, W. Pope and H. Trew. Hounds are grouped in the foreground
