| Description |
English: Activity around the Queen Elizabeth II The Queen Elizabeth II has just berthed at the new liner terminal in Liverpool and its stern can be seen on the right. Some passengers are walking ashore, whilst a courtesy minibus arrives to collect others. The landing stage rises and falls with the tides guided by the massive vertical piles set in the river bed, and the composite rubbing blocks in the 'collar' cause the black mark on the pile. In the background the river police boat patrols up and down. The shoreline in the distance is the Wirral. The QEII left later the same day to complete its final cruise before becoming a floating hotel in Dubai. |
