English: Acorn Atom Disc Pack fdc Card.This card is in the Acorn Atom Disc Pack and has an ATOM DOS ROM and Intel 8271 disc controller. The part number is 206,000 Issue 1. The disc drive connects to the 34-way red plug on the left of the card.
The Acorn fdc is a standard eurocard which connects to the standard Acorn bus and provides an interface to 1 or 2 drives. It is capable of controlling 4 drive surfaces on 2 double sided drives. Single or double track density drives may be used. A 34-way flat ribbon cable connects to the drives after the shugart interface standard. The intelligent device used is the Intel i8271. |
