[edit]DescriptionAchilles Fighting Hektor and Aineas over the body of Troilos Attic Black-Figure vessel from Staatliche Antikensammlungen, Munich by Carole Raddato Flickr 8958378098 67b7fae0b7 k glare reduced white bg.png |
English: Attic Black-Figure Amphora, ca. 550 BCE, depicting Hermes and Athena to the far left side of Achilles fighting Hektor and Aineas while standing beside the altar of Apollo Thymbraios and over the slain body of Troilus, whose head appears suspended between Hektor and Achilles' spear points. Below this is a row with lions and harpies (aka sirens or sphinxes). Possibly by Tyrrhenian Group?, but this information is not recorded by the photographer, Carole Raddato.
The original version of this image was photographed on 31 May, 2013 at Staatliche Antikensammlungen, Munich, and uploaded to flickr with license CCASA 2.0. This version has been digitally resized to increase dpi, edited to reduce the glare, and changed the background to solid white. |
