Description
Français : détail de la surface d'une accumulation de mousse sur la rivière canalisée Deûle (ici en aval de l'écluse du Grand carré, en sortie de Lille, à la hauteur de Saint Andr, dans le Nord de la France). Cette mousse est un indice de pollution organique et/ou chimique, pouvant évoquer la présence d'un détergent ou produit similaire (amonium quaternaire..). Le phénomène se produit encore épisodiquement, parfois accompagné d'une odeur particulière.
Dans les années 1960, il était beaucoup plus fréquent, et les couches de mousses pouvaient dépasser 1 voire 2 m d'épaisseur. A cette époque, il n'y avait pas de station d'épuration dans cette zone et la couche de mousse était beaucoup plus importante.
