Summary
[edit]DescriptionAcadem Two stellations of a Platonic dodecahedron.svg |
English: The convex hull of a “small stellated dodecahedron” or a “great dodecahedron” is a Platonic icosahedron. In other words, the polygonal stellations of the convex pentagonal faces of a Platonic dodecahedron have the twelve vertices of a convex regular icosahedron. Conversely, we can construct a Platonic dodecahedron by truncating a Platonic icosahedron on each vertex, each cross section containing five edges of the initial icosahedron.
