Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Clubhouse at the Acacia Reservation, a park in the Cleveland Metroparks system located at Richmond and Cedar Roads in Lyndhurst, Ohio, in the United States.

Founded in 1921, the first nine holes and a temporary clubhouse opened at the 302-acre Acacia Country Club club in May 1923. The final nine holes opened in July 1924, and the permanent clubhouse in May 1925.

The 235 foot wide, 69 foot deep structure, designed by A.M. Allen & Co., contained a caddy room, golf professional's quarters, lockers and dressing rooms for staff, kitchen, storage room, boiler room, and coal cellar. The main floor housed a dining room, grill, lounges, and men's and woman's shower and locker rooms. The upper floor contained a small number of rooms for members to stay in overnight. The exterior featured a porch, and screened terrace patios. It cost $110,000 ($1.5 million in 2017 dollars).

The club closed in 2012, was purchased by The Conservation Fund for $14.5 million, and donated to the Cleveland Metroparks with the proviso that it be turned into a nature preserve.
