Description
Français : L'abside, du latin absis lui-même dérivé du grec ἁψίς (voûte, arcade), est la partie saillante en demi-cercle d'un bâtiment monumental ou privé. Courante dans l'architecture romaine, cette forme se perpétue dans les églises chrétiennes, et termine le chœur généralement orienté vers l'est, soit par un hémicycle, soit par des pans coupés, soit par un mur plat.
