Deutsch: Vorderseite: FRIDERICVS - LEGISLATOR // SOLVIT / AENIGMA [Friedrich der Rechtskundige. Er löst das Rätsel]. Die belorbeerte Büste des Königs Friedrich II. nach links steht auf einem Felsen, der die Sphinx unter sich begräbt. Links am Stein die Signatur AS.

Rückseite: IAM NON RESVRGET - BELLVA CENTICEPS // MDCCXXXV [Das hundertköpfige Ungeheuer wird nicht wieder aufstehen]. Die stehende Justitia hält in der rechten Hand das Schwert, mit dem sie der Lernäischen Hydra zu ihren Füßen den Kopf abschlug. In der linken Hand hält sie die Waage.

Kommentar: Die Medaillen auf das Preußische Gesetzbuch sind Auszeichnungen, die laut Lore Börner in- und ausländische Juristen als Preis für gute Kommentare zum neuen preußischen Gesetzbuches erhielten. Die Inschrift der Vorderseite der Medaille vergleicht Friedrich II. als Gesetzgeber mit König Ödipus, der das Rätsel löste. Die Rückseite erinnert an die Heldentaten des Herkules beim erfolgreichen Kampf gegen die neunköpfige Hydra.
