Deutsch: Vorderseite: PRINZ LUDWIG FERDINAND VON PREUSSEN. Brustbild des Prinzen Louis Ferdinand mit Zopf in Uniform nach links. An der Uniform Band und Stern des Schwarzen Adlerordens. Im Büstenabschnitt die Medailleursignatur A/S (Abramson).
Rückseite: OESTREICHS KRIEGER - DANKT IHM DAS LEBEN // VOR MAINZ / D 14 IUL / 1793. Prinz Louis Ferdinand stützt einen verwundeten österreichischen Soldaten. Im Abschnitt dreizeilige Aufschrift. Kommentar: Prinz Friedrich Ludwig Christian, meist nur 'Louis Ferdinand' genannt, war der Neffe Friedrichs II. Er wurde 1772 als Sohn des Prinzen Ferdinand von Preußen und seiner Gemahlin Anna Elisabeth Luise von Brandenburg-Schwedt geboren. Die Medaille nimmt Bezug auf ein Ereignis bei der Belagerung von Mainz im Jahre 1793, bei der der Prinz einen verwundeten Österreicher aus dem feindlichen Feuer trug. Er selbst wurde zwei Tage später schwer verwundet. Am 10. Oktober 1806 fiel er in Wöhlsdorf bei Saalfeld im Kampf mit einem französischen Husaren.
