The drum con-tains 102 cartridges, and the gun has a numberof times emptied the drum in 24 seconds, andeight drums in 41.4 seconds. At one trial 63,600cartridges were fired w ithout stopping to wipeout or clean the barrels, and the working ofthe gun (jroved satisfactory, ihe gun is madein different sizes, from .42 caliber upto I inch. This latter size makesit ))ractically equal to a field-piece,and indeed its range, upwards of3000 yards, is nearly as great.
