Kommentar: Auf Vorder- und Rückseite je ein Zentrierpunkt. - Auf Gesuch des Alexandros von Abonuteichos wurde die Stadt kurz nach Regierungsantritt von Marcus Aurelius und Lucius Verus, spätestens in den Jahren 161-169 n. Chr., in Ionopolis umbenannt. Damit wollte Alexandros offenbar auf den 'edlen' griechischen Ursprung der Stadt hinweisen, deren mythischer Gründer Ion der Stammvater der Ionier gewesen sei. Hollstein und Jarman (1995) nehmen an, dass Abunoteichos eine Gründung der weiter östlich gelegenen Stadt Sinope war und von dort der Kult des Sarapis und der Isis übernommen wurde. Beide Götter erscheinen häufig auf sinopischen Münzen.
