Abir Mahmud is a young photographer. He mainly works for travel and documentary photography. Abir has worked with many corporate organizations and government offices as a photographer. He has won many awards in photography at the national and international levels. Abir is studying English at the City University.
Hailed from Dhamrai, Abir loves practicing photography since childhood. He has started doing photography when he was in class 10 in 2015, using a cellphone only. At one stage, he bought a second-hand PowerShot camera and continued.
He worked for Unilever, Acme Group, Monico, Inception 360 Ltd, Bangladesh Football Federation, Pulse Healthcare Ltd, ATN News, A2i-Access to Information Programme, prime minister’s office and Bloodman Foundation.
Now Abir is working as Ambassador for UrPixPays, Bangladesh. Abir Mahmud is basically a self-taught photographer, but he completed a short course in photography from GMB Akash Institute of Photography.
Abir has some achievements in photography. Abir Mahmud’s efforts have been spotlighted in several newspapers and publications such as CGTN, The Independent, National Geographic India, The Daily Star, ATN News, and many others. He received more than 30 national and international awards and exhibited photographs more than 100 times.
His success leads him towards the award-winning streak: remained two times winner in Aradhanay Chitropot National Photo competition. He is the winner in Sylhet Agricultural University Photographic Society-SAUPS Photo Exhibition, and got 3rd prize in the Lensculture Photography Award.
Abir said, “At first the photography was my hobby. I have chosen photography as a career because I love to take photos. It makes me happy. I believe that if anyone wants to be successful he or she should do that thing what he or she loves to do. In future, I want to work for the people as well.”
