DescriptionAbies concolor - Pinus jeffreyi Manzanita Springs.jpg |
English: Mixed Abies concolor subsp. lowiana - Pinus jeffreyi forest at ridge crest, Manzanita Springs, San Gorgonio Wilderness, San Bernardino Mountains, California. The trees up on the top of the ridge are far larger and healthier than those on the western slope, many of which have fallen victim to bark beetles. These higher elevation trees, spending more of the year in the snow, get far more moisture than their cousins lower down the slope. |
