English: The third solo exhibition on 'Photographic Art' of Dr. Abhoy Nath Ganguly was held from 4th - 10th July, 2013, at the Academi of Fine Arts, Kolkata. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Justice Ashim Kumar Banerjee of The Calcutta High Court. The public function was enjoyed by about sixty people at the opening time.
Dr. Abhoy Nath Ganguly or Abhoynath Ganguly (born: 1942), Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Calcutta (1968), is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Chartered Chemist (UK). He carried out Post Doctoral Research work on Drug Development at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He retired as Factory Manager from the Organon (India) Ltd., He has also successfully completed the courses ‘International Understanding for Human Unity’, ‘Appreciation of Indian Art’ and ‘Indology’ conducted by the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture,Kolkata. He is an avid practitioner of photography for nearly 40 years. He received his Diploma in Photography from the Photographic Association of Dum Dum, Kolkata in 1982. He also completed Judges’ Training Course from PAD in 1987. He was bestowed with ‘Associateship (ARPS) from the Royal Photographic Society in 1986 and received the distinction ‘Artiste FIAP’ (AFIAP) in the same year and ‘Excellence FIAP’ (EFIAP) in 2005 from the Federation Internationale De L’ Art Photographique (affiliated to UNESCO). He was admitted to the Fellowship of Federation of Indian Photography in 2005. He is the co-author of two of the books published by PAD. He has to his credit more than 200 acceptances in myriad salons spread over various countries in different continents. Some of his works have been awarded with honours and medals from distinguished national and international salons. He has also served as a member of the jury in several national and international salons. |
