| Description |
English: Aberystwyth Castle The castle was built by Edward I between 1277 and 1289 (replacing earlier constructions on the site), held by Owain Glyndŵr 1404-8, finally slighted on Cromwells orders in 1649. Now it is a minor tourist attraction and a pleasant place to spend a sunny evening in early autumn. The intriguing statue peeping behind the ruins is atop the war memorial in the castle grounds [1]. |
