Nederlands: De huidige begraafplaats is ontstaan uit het kerkhof van de abdij.
Enkele belangrijke personen werden begraven in de schaduw van de kerk o.a. De inval van de Duitsers in 1914 ging gepaard met moord en brand in Leuven en Blauwput. Vijf inwoners van Blauwput werden doodgeschoten in de tuin van de zusterschool van Blauwput. Het kruis dat daar jaren herinnerde aan deze gruwelijke feiten, werd in 1966 overgebracht naar het kerkhof van Vlierbeek (foto 1).
