Description
Nederlands: Dit medaillon is een van de vijf stenen die sir Walter Scott verkreeg van het middeleeuwse Mercat Cross in Edinburgh. Het stelt het wapenschild van Edinburgh voor, met langs rechts een hert dat de patroonheilige van de stad, St-Giles, voorstelt.
English: The carved medaillon is one of the five stones that sir Walter Scott acquired from the mediaeval Mercat Cross in Edinburgh. The panel depicts the cooat-of-arms of the city of Edinburgh, with the deer on the right side symbolising the city's patron Saint Giles.
