Summary

Description

The earliest abacuses where from 300 BC, a flat table with tokens used to count what's owed, kind of like a modern day craps table. The counters here were found at the bottom of the Thames River.

Photos from a tour of the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. Thanks to Dick Guertin, our docent/leader, and John Toole, the CEO. For more about the museum and for online exhibits, visit the website.
