Eesti: Üliõhukeste luukoekasvu soodustavate kiledega kaetud meditsiinilise titaani objektide bioühilduvust ja biosõbralikkust kontrollitakse mitut moodi. Üheks võimalikuks etapiks on luu ehitajarakkude ehk osteoblastide kasvatamine uuritava materjali pinnale. Vahel läheb katse natuke valesti ka!
Pildil on näha, et Tartu Ülikooli Füüsika Instituudis, Kiletehnoloogia laboris valmistatud kattega implantaadi pinnale on lisaks luukoe rakkudele asunud elama ka tundmatud bakterid. English: Biocompatibility and bioactivity of ultra thin osseointegration enhancing coatings is studied by several different methods. One possibility is to try growing osteoblast cells on study objects. But sometimes, everything does not turn out as planned!
