Here in a noble room he has hisunique collection of ancient books written by travellersduring the last five or six centuries, and others dealingwith, or touching on, Cyprus and its affairs. It is fromthese sources that its learned author has compiled thework known as Excerpta Cypria, which consists of transla-tions from their pages, a book invaluable to students, butnow unhappily out of print. I considered myself for-tunate in being able to purchase a set of the sheets atan advanced price in the capital, Nicosia, where it wasprinted.
