[edit]DescriptionA winding road through the Atacama Desert (dji-20240605184841-ang).jpg |
English: This drone image from June 2024 shows ESO's Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) dome against the brilliant landscape of the Atacama Desert, Chile. The winding road leading down the mountain, Cerro Armazones, leads to the basecamp for the construction staff. There, large parts of the ELT structure - such as the sliding doors - are pre-assembled and driven up the mountain to join the dome. |
