Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A view of Duke's House over the wall Dukes House is a neo-gothic building situated in woodland outside Hexham. It was allegedly built on the site of a cottage where Henry Beaufort, 3rd Duke of Somerset, was captured in 1464 before being taken to Hexham and executed. The Battle of Hexham was the final battle in the Northumberland phase of the “Wars of the Roses”. The house is now divided into apartments.
