Title
A view in plan of a Medieval 'D' shaped buckle.
Description
English: The buckle is made of cast copper alloy. In plan it is a 'D' shape. The length, from side to side is 17.3mm and is 13.7mm wide.

The strap bar is narrowed and in-set. The loop gradually expands in width towards the apex. In profile the loop is obliquely angled, narrowing towards the outer edge. The reverse is flat. The pin is missing.

The buckle has traces of a brown patina, otherwise pitting occurs.

Egan and Pritchard date these shaped buckles to the 13th to 14th centuries. No. 274 is a comparable buckle.
