Summary
[edit]DescriptionA very old wall - geograph.org.uk - 1226631.jpg |
English: A very old wall This old wall is unusual because the right side of it is made of pitched stones, that is stones place on edge and nearly vertical. I guess it wasn't a high wall to keep stock from straying but was marking the boundary of some land. The line of it goes steeply straight down the hillside, crosses the stream and rises on the other side as an apparently earthen mound with bilberry plants growing on it.
Not much sign of spring on this late March day but I love these winter colours in the sunshine. |
