The small, circular, grayspots which partly encircle the vesicle, are caused, according to Liebreich, by apeculiar opacity of the vitreous humor due to the suction of the entozoon, and arequite characteristic of the presence of a cysticercus. Fig. 10 represents a case of old-standing and extensive detachment of the retina.The lower half of the retina (which shows a tolerable sharply-defined edge towardsthe left) bulges forwards into the vitreous humor, and is thrown into well-markedfolds, and on this account, as well as of the color of the subjacent fluid, it shows apeculiar greenish-gray tint.
