Psoricusis Orbicularis Syphilitica INFANTILE SYPHILIS. 439 which are elevated above the adjacent surface. They assumeand maintain a pretty uniform orbicular figure. (Plate VIII.) In some instances the eruption is confined to the hands andfeet, in the form of well-defined, copper-colored squamae, whileall the other portions of the integument are free from blemish. Sometimes the eruption manifests a marked pustulo-papulartendency. The amount of exudation, however, is small, andproduces irregular, thin, dark-colored incrustations, which arevery adherent to the subjacent derma. Superficial sores oftenbreak out also about the knees, the ankles, shoulders, and otherparts, that are exposed to pressure or friction. Fissures arelikewise very generally seen at the angles of the mouth in suchchildren, and a sort of psoriasis of the lips, which are dry andparched; and the little sufferer seems to keep the mouth com-pressed instinctively, as if for the purpose of avoiding constantdistress in the p
