| Description |
English: A tranquil corner A seat has been put up where Short Dike meets the south-eastern edge of Rockland Broad. The Wherrymans Way long distance footpath and Sustrans National Cycle Route No 1 lead past here. This section of the path links Rockland St Mary with Surlingham, further to the north.
The Wherrymans Way is a 35-mile long distance footpath following the route of the Broads trading wherries between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. The route takes its name from the wherry a large cargo-carrying barge whose black sails used to be a common sight on these waters > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/904111. Ten circular village walks branch off this path along the way. |
