[edit]
Description
English: A temperature inversion over Pen Llyn Often under clear anticyclonic conditions a slab of warmer, sinking, air caps the colder air in contact with the frozen ground. As a result the smoke rising from the burning of gorse and heather, such as here on Mynydd Penarfynydd, is trapped from rising and forms a thick blanket of smoke extending for many miles.
