Run the hand into the two small loopsso that the longest clasps the centre of the palm and the other holdsthe middle finger tightly at the inner phalange. With the patientseated so as to bring the part into exact reach of the operators press-ure with a rigid extension of the handle-bar, make contact with thetips of the thumb and fingers, and start the motor into rapid action.During the seance direct the pressure upon the tissues of the regionto be treated till sufficient effect has been obtained. This is with-out any electric-current in the vibrations and concerns mainly the head—nose, ear, forehead, throat, and small local parts needing sedationor delicate nutritional alteration. See Plate 295. It is well-nigh superfluous to describe the sensory and physicalactions of this technic.
