k completely. The incontinence got better when the urethra wasnarrowed. The sexual function of the penis is fair, in spite of its misshapenness.Erection and ejaculation occur, but copulation is imperfect and fecunda-tion impossible. EPISPADIAS. 97 The separation of the pubic bones is readily recognized by palpation. It is a source of great annoyance to the patient, since it enlarges the epi-spadic opening and still further interferes with the sphincter. Exstrophyof the bladder occurs with epispadias, but it is a distinct malformation, and will be considered elsewhere. Prognosis is favorable. Formation of a new canal from the extremity of the glans to theneighborhood of the epispadic opening. 3. Junction of the two portions of the canal, 1. It is often difiicult to straighten out the penis, owing to defective 98 DISEASES AND INJURIES OF THE URETHRA. development of the corpora cavernosa. Single or multiple incisions aremade into tliose bodies in the neighborhood of the pubes. The processis the same as that used by Duplay for hypospadias, but done on the dor-sum of the penis. Subsequent development of the penis helps thestraightening. 2. An attempt is now made to
