Fig. 5 represents the method employed at the Charity Hospital forapplying cold and irrigating the eye. The right eye has been protectedby Bullers shield ; the head is inclined toward the left, and a pus-basinheld by the patient himself just beneath the eye receives the discharge whenthe eye is irrigated.
