Summary
[edit]DescriptionA study in arches in the Sheki Caravanserai (37052045910).jpg | A study in arches on the Caravanserai in Sheiki, Azerbaijan. The Caravanserai was a large motel or pit stop for weary traders using the ancient Silk Route. The Sheki Caravansarai was actually in two parts- the upper and the lower. This is the lower Caravansarai. There was no mention of the upper one, in fact I came to know of it only after I returned to Dubai and while researching information for captioning these photographs. Notes about the Sheki caravansarai appear in previous as well as in subsequent captions. Part of this caravansarai now also serves as a hotel, though I gather that the quality of facilities and service leave much to be desired. (Sheki, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2017) |
