Description

A_streetcar_passes_Hamilton_and_Hastings_in_old_Vancouver.

Original caption:
"200/300 Block of West Hastings - 1900s/2009

That fabulous old building that stood on the corner of Hamilton & Hastings was torn down in favour of what is there today, a much less grandiose building, which a huge understatement.

On that block, there are two smaller buildings that remain but the two large buildings at the far end are no longer. The building that appears behind the bank building in the old photo on the very left appears to be the same building.

More streetcars and fashions are in this old photo. The trees on the left in the old photo are probably situated in front of the old courthouse that used to stand where Victory Square is today."
