English: Lance Cpl. Hector Bojorquez, a native of Aurora, Colo., and a motor transport operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 11, shoots an azimuth on his lensatic compass during the land navigation portion of the Basic Combat Skills Course aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Nov. 16, 2015. In an age where one can find their way with a digital watch or smartphone, Marines with CLB 11, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force reverted to refining their rudimentary skills and dusted off one of their most dependable orienteering methods. "This serves as a refresher on how to traverse the land, and how to locate your position or other friendly positons," said Sgt. William Fabrocini, a Los Angeles native and chief instructor for the BCSC with Combat Skills Training School.
