Title
a spindle whorl of unknown date
Description
English: A crudely cast lead alloy spindle whorl of unknown date. One face is flat and one is domed. There is no decoration. It is 26.9mm in diameter and 7.3mm thick. It weighs 25.93gm.

This type of whorl is very difficult to date, but it resembles those categorised as Coppergate type A, which are attributed to the sixth and early seventh century (Walton Rogers, 2007). However, such a simple design could also be much later in date.
