Description
English: A silver thimble, dating from to 1750 - 1900AD. The thimble is flattened probably by a post-depositional event and would have probably originally been domed with slightly flared sides and a rounded top and has the original owners name "Jane Scorefill" engraved around the bottom.

The thimble appears to have been drilled although it could be cast, it is often difficult to distinguish between cast and hammered thimbles. A series of closely and unevenly set sub-circular dents cover the sides. The drilled pits begin at the top and continue in a continuous spiral to the base in a regular manner. The length is 25mm, and the width is 25mm. The thimble appears to have similarities with LEIC-411F96.
