English: A silver shilling of Edward VI, second period, January 1549-April 1550. Legends transposed. Obverse: Crowned bust right. Inscription reads: INIMICOS [EIUS] IND[UAM] CON[FU]SIONE. Reverse: Oval shield crowned and garnished, with E R at sides. Inscription reads EDWARD VI D G [A]NGL FRA E H[..] REX. Initial mark: A bow. From Durham mint. It measures 31.6mm in diameter and weighs 5.53g. North, J. J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume 2: Edward I to Charles II 1272-1662, page 122, ref. 1925.
