Description
English: A short freight train passes Water Orton Station. Class 31 No. 31289, on a short freight, passes the Birmingham/Leicester platform at Water Orton Station on 16/4/1985. The platform buildings dated from the rebuilding and construction of the direct Derby line in, if memory serves me correctly, 1907. In spite of efforts by local people to save them sadly they were demolished and replaced with bus type shelters, only the buildings at street level and the covered stairway now survive.
