The sections of thetrolley operating on the different currents are separated bydead sections in the trolley which consists of a section ofthe regular 000 wire placed between two section unsulatorsmounted on adjacent poles, which gives a dead section of 140feet. The type of section insulator is illustrated in Pig.4.Only the terminals operate on the direct current and the pointsof change from the alternating to the direct current are atthe connection of the Peoria and Pekin Union tracks, in EastPeoria, about one half mile from the river, at the west end;and the other just west of the under crossing of the LakeErie and Western at Bloomington; that is, about one mile fromtVie terminal. The high tension line is carried on the same polesand consists of three #2 hard drawn copper wires which carryvoltage of 33,000 volts.
