While town of Cavite is walled,fortifications are at end of land projection,stronghold of position being Port SanFelipe on landward line, with bulwarks ofGuadalupe on extreme point between Cana-cao and Bacoor bays, and sweeping CaviteBay on E. In addition to its paraphernalia ofwarlike defense, town is extremely pictur-esque in its location. It is in telegraphiccommunication with all points on islands.Buildings, public and private, are of stone:garrison and employees of arsenal make uppopulation. About 3 m. to SW. is Tierra Alta,as its name indicates. It is a favorite resortof foreigners for recuperation from effects ofclimate.
