The most frequent of these deviations was to find the kidneylying obliquely on the sacro-iliac synchondrosis, as representedin Fig. 78. In some of the cases, the organ was fixed besidethe uterus, or transversely between the rectum and bladder, oracross the prominence of the sacrum. Mr. Canton has described and figured a curious specimen,taken from a man who died (of bronchitis) at the age oftwenty-seven.
