a post medieval spindle whorl
Description
English: A cast lead alloy biconvex spindle whorl, probably of late medieval or early post-medieval date, AD1400 - 1600. Both sides are decorated; one with two concentric rings of pellets, the other with interlocking triangles. There is an indentation in the sidewall of the central perforation. The whorl is 25.3mm in diameter and 13mm thick. It weighs 32.63gm.
