Title
a post Medieval spherical bell
Description
English: A post medieval, copper alloy, spherical bell, dating from 1600-1800. Both upper and lower sides of the bell are decorated. The upper decoration is a floral pattern of a single flower with eight petals. The lower half has a sunburst design and carries a square-topped shield containing a letter I as the manufacturer's initial. There is a square suspension loop with a hemispherical piercing, two circular piercings in the upper half and a slot with circular terminals in the lower half. The cast iron, spherical clapper remains in place. The bell has a dark green patina. It is 43.2mm long and 34.5mm in diameter. It weighs 32.56gm.
