Title
A possible Post Medieval copper alloy knife handle.
Description
English: A Post Medieval copper alloy handle possibly from a scale-tang knife. The handle is formed of two sheets of copper alloy, between which are fragments of iron. The front plate of the handle is bevelled and has traces of decoration, some of which is still inlaid with gilding. Geoff Egan suggests the handle could date from the sixteenth century. The handle is 61.4mm long, 18.9mm wide, 5.2mm thick and weighs 23.5 grams.
