Description
English: Depicted from upper left to right: Lecabettus Hill (to the left and behind the Acropolis), the Frankish Tower (on the Acropolis), the Turkish cemetery in Athens (in front of the Acropolis), the Odeion of Herodes Atticus and the Temple of Olympian Zeus (right of the Acropolis).

Depicted in the foreground: A group of eminent Turks engaged in Jereet. The equestrian Turkish Voïvode (governor) of Athens is about to throw the jereet, while Mudereese Effendi is conversing with Achmét Agá, "the richest and most respectable Turkish gentleman of Athens", according to J. Stuart.

The perspective of the painter is at the crossroads of the Piraic way to the Acropolis and the path (Apostle Paul Str. today) leading from Theseion to Filopappou Hill.
