A medieval strap slide or mount
Description
English: A copper alloy strap fitting dating to the medieval period. The fitting comprises a rectangular bar with two D shaped extensions. These extensions are perforated. The upper surface of the fitting is decorated with opposing triangular and circular cells which may originally have been filled with niello or enamel. The stud measures 34mm in length, 10mm in width and 8mm in thickness.
